Do you have the patient information that comes with your birth control pill? I assume it says that after you miss 2-days (in a row) of birth control pills, to double-up on the following 2 days, AND to use alternative form of birth control (condom) for the next 7 days.

Since it is too late to take emergency contraception, you may want to call your doctor and ask the nurse's opinion.

A side note: when taking hormonal contraception, you don't usually ovulate (when taking it every day consistently & correctly). The pill works by preventing ovulation from occurring each month, as well as making it difficult for the sperm to reach an egg as an extra precaution (just in case you did ovulate, as it may happen, just not likely) by thickening cervical mucus.

Some spotting is OK, as the hormones in your body were not regulated with missing 2 pills (and, I assume you doubled-up on the missed pills during the following 2 days?)

Again, I would call the doctor, let them know that your period is 5 days late, and you missed 2 pills in a row during week 2 of the pack, and had unprotected sex within that 7-day window.
