For what it is worth I thought that I would chime in with some information for people looking for answers. I appreciate seeing the many kind, supportive, and informative answers from members and guests. I am curious about Alison Beaver and anon (teenager I am guessing) that preaches about body awareness. There really isn't any need to attack people for asking a perfectly valid relevant question. It can also be dangerous to ignore a drastic change in your monthly cycle and just write it off as a strange period. It is good to have the awareness to question what is happening with your body. So I applaud those who ask a question and open up a venue for people to share information.
No one can tell you for sure, online if you are pregnant or not.
There are many reasons other than pregnancy that can cause a period to be late and short. It can definitely be a cause to seek a doctors advice. However, it is very common for a woman to bleed in early pregnancy. Here is a post from Oxford Journals: http://humrep.oxfordjournals.org/content/18/9/1944.full
The researchers that published this study found that 9% of their subjects had bleeding during early pregnancy; 84% of those women went on to deliver healthy full term babies. They were working with a fairly small sample of women so the statistics globally may be different, but it does show that this is a common phenomenon. If you are wondering if there is hope that you are still pregnant after experiencing bleeding the answer is YES. To all of you trying to get pregnant I wish you the best of luck!
