I have the same issue. After seeing a foot surgeon (PCP sent me - make sure you get your referral for insurance!), I learned that I had an elongated second toe and metatarsal bone. They are arthritic and disintegrating. In my case, I was provided orthotic inserts to relieve the stress on the bones. It’s been a year - and it really has helped. Surgery will have to be done eventually (“I’m dragging my feet” because of the long recovery). Now I’m going to “preach to the choir”. This is a progressive problem, you cannot rewind the foot clock. See a qualified orthopedic foot specialist soon. BTW - mine progressed VERY rapidly. Went from normal looking feet to “Spock toes” in less than six months.
