Hi j.allen - Yes, men are welcome to join the EmpowHER community, so welcome aboard. I do want to make a suggestion, however. Since this thread was started with a focus on post-gallbladder surgery weight gain and menopause you would be better off starting your own thread on the same topic without including menopause as a concern. You can use our "Ask" feature (go to the home page to reach this) to do this. Your quest for information will also be better seen by our members if you start a new thread as those buried in old threads have far less visibility. You are also welcome to use our new "Groups" feature to start a discussion group on this and help people share information with each other. Hope this helps, and again, welcome to EmpowHER.
