There are a number of tests that can be done to diagnose an arrhythmia, as there are several different types of heart arrhythmia.
Many of these tests are non-invasive, and require you to see a specialized doctor (a cardiologist or electrophysiologist). Have you asked your physician about this? Was s/he concerned? Either way, it would be a good idea to have a test done, to rule out anything serious.

Please review the Mayo Clinic's Arrhythmia Diagnosis site, and feel free to ask any follow-up questions.
