Hi again! Thanks so much scf500 for your continuous suggestions, always a huge help! What a great discovery with the sponges Diane, thank you! Besides paper towels containing pine tree sap, I'm starting to think we also need to watch out for certain ingredients in soaps that we use to wash our hands. Scf500, you are so lucky that shampoos & conditioners aren't giving you trouble! I've been trying different brands & some of them make my scalp itch and my face/lips stickier if the soap runs down while I'm rinsing my hair. To verycurious: If you started getting the stickiness after taking the new medicine, there must be something in it that you're allergic to. I agree with scf500 and I would stay away from any products containing the word benzo. You might want to call the manufacturer of Accutane and find out the exact ingredients to help narrow it down. I would also try taking a different medication if possible. Now that I know I'm allergic to Colophony (aka Rosin/Celluose) & Thimerasol (aka Sodium Benzoate), I'm trying to eliminate all products with those ingredients to see if I can get some stickiness relief, but it's difficult as Cellulose is in almost everything! I have to find new probiotics, new toothpaste, etc. I'm in my mid 30's, and I just found out that my thyroid is low so I'm going to start taking Levothyroxine (T4). After reading about hypothyroidism, it seems as though the body runs at a slower pace, and even causes less blood flow to the skin. I never used to have any of these allergy problems in the past... does anyone think sticky skin could be linked to the thyroid hormone?? Just a thought, thanks!
