You can take showers or bath with an "Alpron" like antiseptic.
You can make this type antiseptic yourself by adding about 2% Clorox to 70% citric acid. Food grade citric acid is sold in the supermarket as coffee machine cleaner.

A standard procedure would be to take a 30 minute bath with one cup Clorox.
