You do need SOME amount of sodium in your system, as it is one of the essential electrolytes necessary to maintain healthy cell and organ function.

So, rather than avoiding sodium, cutting back, if your intake is high or if you have a heart condition, would be preferable.

Hormonal imbalance is believed by some doctors to be a contributing factor to weight gain among women, especially during menopause. However, you've indicated you have other issues.
