You are not too old at all!!! And congratulations!!

I'm so very happy for you. At 41, you have a lot to offer your baby that some younger parents don't. You've had more time to live your life. You have more accumulated knowledge and you understand that things don't always come easy. You may have more savings and more ability to plan ahead and provide for your baby than a younger parent would. And it's likely that you'll enjoy all the tiny moments even more because you know it was very possible that you wouldn't have those tiny moments, right?

My mom delivered the three of us at 31, 38 and 40. She says that having kids later in life kept her and my dad feeling young. (I imagine that when my sister and brother were toddlers 17 months apart, she felt more exhausted than young, however!)

As Alysia said, you do have a higher risk of complications because of what the doctors will bluntly call your "advanced age." And it may be that when you show up for parent-teacher conferences with your kindergartener that you feel a little old. But seriously, no one cares. Older moms are quite common these days.

Heck, Geena Davis just had twins at 52. You still have time for more!!!
