The only thing I can say is don't jump into something just because of your age. I understand your need and want to have children before you get any older, but doing it with someone who you have never even met may not be the best idea.
Perhaps looking into sperm donation would be the best option for you if you are concerned about how you will raise this child with someone who you have no information on other than what your friend has told you.
I don't want to sound discouraging but please do take precaution before proceeding with having a child with a stranger.
