If you have a "period" (or "withdrawal bleeding", as when you are taking the pill, you don't actually have a period, but the bleeding is from withdrawal of the hormones in your body), then that would indicate you are not pregnant.

However, you said that you missed 3 pills, then had a period, then missed another 2 pills and had unprotected sex? If it occurred in that order, it may be possible (but unlikely) to become pregnant. If you had sex while you were bleeding, most likely the semen would be shed from your body. The reason there is even a possibility is that when you miss 5 pills in-a-row, you do not know when you may begin ovulating. If you have sex, the sperm can stay in a woman's body up to 3-5 days, "waiting" for an egg to be released. There are too many factors, but if you had sex while you were actively bleeding, then I would say it is doubtful that you could be pregnant. However, your body may have started the ovulation process while you abruptly stopped your pills for 5 days, so it is very important to use back-up protection (condom) for the next 7 days.

If you do not remember to take your pill consistently and correctly every day, you may want to talk with your doctor about other hormonal contraception that you only need to think about once per week, once per month, or once every 3 months. Also, always have condoms available, and you can also use the Withdrawal Method (or "pull out" method as extra precaution (it's only about 75% effective at preventing pregnancy, so should not be used alone!)
