Hi! I have a question; is it possible that you have made a habit of wearing high heels, or shoes that are too narrow (something I am often guilty of), and that your fourth toe is the one getting squeezed?

And I know you said you looked up neuroma, but I also want you to look at this page on Morton's Neuroma to see if it could be the problem. Morton's is nerve pain caused by compression of the nerves in a tight space, and it mentions specifically the nerves between the third and fourth toe:
