Hi Diane - Well you've certainly picked a topic on many minds right now, and one that's fueling a lot of conversations about celebrities, privacy rights, marriages, relationships and more. Obviously this situation touched a lot of nerves.

What do I think? First, what Tiger Woods did is on him, not on the tabloid or mainstream media. His associates knew about and tolerated his behavior. Unlike the average citizen, he had the resources to hire the best public relations and reputation management counsel in the world. He had plenty of opportunities to provide honest information when the car accident story broke, but didn’t. His efforts to evade the truth, and not accept responsibility, dragged this out and fed the flames of media speculation.

Second, I don’t have much patience for famous men who cheat on their wives and then think all will be forgiven by issuing a press release. It doesn’t take a whole lot of talent to keep one’s pants on, it just takes character and commitment. We now know that Tiger Woods’ carefully crafted public image did not reflect who he really is, who he pledged to be to his wife when he took his sacred vows or who he claimed to be to the sponsors who pay him millions of dollars to build trust in thier brands. What we're now seeing is a show of “reality” and that's why so many people are talking about it. Tiger Woods broke his trust with us, his public. Whether that information had come out by pony express, or by instant messaging, it all goes back to character.
Thanks for the post,
Pat
