Guide

Hello Anonymous,
I assume that you are currently enrolled in a nursing school program. Have you studied anatomy and physiology yet? Have you studied the endocrine system? If you have, then, you should be aware of how the menstrual cycle is regulated by hormones.

Estrogen and progestin play a vital role in the menstrual cycle. In the second half of the menstrual cycle, if an egg is not fertilized, estrogen and progestin levels drop, the endometrium breaks down and menstruation occurs.
Plan B uses a larger dose of levonorgestrel than a single birth control pill. Levonorgestrel is a synthetic progestin. Combination birth control pills contain synthetic estrogen and progestin.

By taking one dose of Plan B and just two doses of birth control pills, you upset your body's normal estrogen and progestin levels.

I suggest that you give your body a month to stabilize its normal hormone balance. Have your boyfriend use a condom when you have sex. If you are going to take birth control pills, you must take a dose each day at the same time each day. I strongly suggest that you make an appointment with your gynecologist for a complete exam.
