You're absolutely right--there is nothing wrong with what you are asking for. Sometimes dropping hints may work but many times it's best to just be straight-forward with your partner because you never know if he feels like maybe you may not like rough sex--communication is key. You can either bring up sexual fantasies or sexual likes and dislikes one day or you can wait until you're having sex and simply say what you want as you're having sex. It is entirely normal to let your partner know what satisfies you and what doesn't. Of course by letting him know what you don't like you don't want to insult him or hurt his feelings just be open and truthful. You guys are married now and it seems very appropriate to be able to communicate openly about sex.
