Hi GoinNuts - Thank you for writing and welcome to EmpowHER. No, you're not "going nuts", what you've described is someone dealing with multiple, complex medical issues over a long period of time while also having multiple, complex family responsibilities. That situation would be a stressful one for most people.

I have a couple of questions for you. First, do you have a doctor or other medical professional who helps you with your medical concerns as a whole - someone like a primary care physician or perhaps a nurse case manager? Or, are you seeing multiple doctors individually with no coordination of care? Individuals who are dealing with multiple conditions and multiple medications often benefit from working from a professional who can look at the bigger picture and check for such concerns as medications that may interact with each other, how to streamline care and more.

Another question I have is does your health care plan include behavioral health benefits? It's common for those with complex conditions to seek and benefit from professional counseling. When you have a lot to deal with an unbiased third party can be very helpful in providing a safe way to vent about the situation and sort it out so that you're able to manage it better. Seeing a counselor is not an indication of "going nuts" but rather a way to manage another aspect of your medical condition.

Does this information help you? Has it sparked some new ideas? Some new questions?
Please let us know, we're here to support you. Take care, Pat
