Thank you for posting the story of your niece. It helps me a great deal. My 12 year old son had an asthma attack on January 14th 2015. In the ambulance, they lost his heartbeat and he went without oxygen to his brain for what they say was 7-15 minutes. The PICU doctor told us he wouldn't live through the night, and that we should pull the plug and donate his organs. We love our son too much to let them sell his parts like a used car, so we resisted. We got lawyers to keep them from pulling the plug over our objections, had him moved to another state, and he has been in a coma/PVS ever since. Our insurance is forcing him to be moved to a nursing home because they say he isn't showing progress. We are told regularly how little brain function he has although no one has done a CT Scan, MRI or EEG on him since the first week after the injury. They tell us everything he won't ever do or be again, so it is SO wonderful to hear your niece's story. I will pray for her continued recovery. Thank you.
