After fracture to my talus, I was put in a boot and told walking as pain tolerated. After about 2 weeks it collapsed, sent to ankle specialist and after 5 months non weight bearing, ankle collapsed and pin broke. Fusion recommended but I put it off for a year cause I had some movement and was scared of the surgery. Push came to shove and going to fax paper work to have surgery ankle gave way and ended up with spiral fracture to my femur! i know, right? 2 surgeries later I'm about to have the fusion.
I'm told talar and subtalar fusion . I'm scared!! Finding Dr is scary, how do you know that they're the right one? Does bedside manner really play into the equation? I don't know what questions to as, I don't know how to decide what doc. Basically I'm freaking out! Sorry for rant, long post
