Ovarian cysts are very common. Many woman have them and never even realize it and within a few months they disappear with no treatment. They are often considered what we call an incidental finding, because they are so common and usually not worrisome.
Sometimes they can cause a problem, particularly if they rupture. It is very painful and sudden. They can also indicate PCOS, although at your age it would be less likely.
