That burning pain is probably the nerves involved that radiate from your herniated disc.

Are you having any numbness or tingling as well?

Are you being treated (with physical therapy and/or medicine)? You need to be, as nerve damage can be long-lasting if not treated properly.

Your herniated discs themselves are not what is causing your pain. What is causing your pain is that when the disc (which is a small, gel-like capsule between each of the bones in your spine) gets squashed, or herniated, it can put pressure on the nerves, which can then travel the length of the nerve.
