Research on women and testosterone is inconsistent because of variable dosing. In women who are deficient, a small physiologic dose (e.g. what the body would naturally make) of bioidentical testosterone can have many benefits. It's best delivered in a patch or pellet. Creams and gels tend to migrate to others in the family! Excessively high doses and synthetic testosterone can cause insomnia, anxiety, and excess estrogen.
