Hormones are what control our body cycles and our menstrual periods, and stress can interfere with those hormones. So yes, it's possible that if you have had an extra busy, stressful month, that could be an explanation for your late/missed period.
Are you usually very regular? Because it's just not that unusual for women to sometimes go quite late or even miss a period for no reason that they can figure out.
If I were you, I would test again this week, and if it is still negative, I would call the doctor's office and ask to come in for a pregnancy test. Their blood tests are much more accurate than the home tests. That will let you know for sure and clear your mind one way or the other. Will you do that?
