It's hard to know what it is without seeing it. A lot of people have harmless lumps all their lives. If this really bothers you it may be worth going to your doctor, but if you're not having any problems then you could ask about it during your next scheduled visit. If, however, you notice changes - pain, coloration, movement, etc, - then, yes, get it checked out right away. Does that help?
