Just a quick note, but ovulation really can happen at any time after your period. If you pay attention to cervical mucus, you can determine when that is. I'm just saying that because my cycles have never been regular at all, so charting has been essential.

As for the OP, I've occasionally had sore breasts with higher oestrogen levels (not necessarily around ovulation, but when my body's trying to ovulate, for example). I did have really sore breasts with my first pregnancy. I can't remember ever having sore breasts before menstruation, but that doesn't mean it didn't happen.
