hello, I'm a 16 year old female that is average weight and not extremely hairy. when I was about 14 I would get this painful reoccurring bump on my tailbone that would last for about a week. Up until last year when I was 15, it got infected due to the fact I hurt my knee, so in class I had to sit a certain way that applied pressure to my tailbone. Due to this, the cyst reoccurred and became infected. I had no idea what it was until my mom looked it up and finally took me to the doctor. They gave me antibiotics that I took for about a week or a month(I don't really remember) and would apply a heat pack to it several times throughout the day. It eventually started to drain a little bit. It wasnt like white puss and didn't smell bad at all thankfully. It was like a clear liquid because it wasn't infected to that extent. I haven't had a cyst ever since. Up until now. It's starting to come back again and I think it might be coming infected again. I go to school for 8 hours and am constantly sitting. And then I come home and sit and do my homework. I just don't know what to do and I really wish I didn't have this. Before I know what it was, I just thought the dimple was a normal thing everyone had. I always keep it clean as possible. Also when I wear thongs, the cyst seems to reappear and hurt even more. I have really bad posture, so I'm forced to sit in a way that applies pressure to my tailbone. I really don't want the surgery I just want it to go away.
