Yes, anytime you miss birth control pills, the effectiveness rate decreases, and your chance of pregnancy increases.

When you have sex, you do not actually become pregnant right away; it's actually a 10-14 day process. The pill works when the synthetic hormones are consistently in your body, and when you miss pills, it provides a possible opportunity for your body to start it's natural processes to create an environment for possible conception.

It is not as big of a risk as not taking the pill at all, as the pill works to change the cervical mucus (so sperm have trouble traveling through). Missing one pill usually does not increase your risk of pregnancy, but missing two or more does.

Did you make up the pills as directed?
