I had mine in 2008. It was a really painful procedure and when I went for my checkup, I told the doctor that the area around my cervix just felt numb--and was more noticable during sex. He blew it off. Honestly, it has not felt the same since. In December I started feeling like someone was cranking my cervix open with a speculum to the maximum width. It was waking me up at night. Months later they have found my cervix is inflamed, I have cysts, a fibroid and a note from the radiologist to rule out cervical cancer. I read someone else's post that they had to take some meds the night before to have the cervix open? I didn't. I had the Essure procedure before this, so don't know if it could be contributing to this endless pain. By the way, my periods were only slightly reduced, and now clots are being expelled again.
