I too have experienced this change. I am 38 and my cycle was 30 days. I now have spotting 4 days before my period starts if I assume I am now a 28 day cycle. This always happens around the implantation date. I used to get excited that it was implantation bleeding but my period always started a few days later. Yes, you could have a cyst but if you are my age or older it is probably low progesterone.
