No, you are not pregnant!

A menstrual period indicates that you are not pregnant. Yes, it is true that some women may experience some bleeding during a pregnancy, but bleeding in early pregnancy often indicates a miscarriage. If you want to believe what you read about bleeding and pregnancy, be sure to educate yourself on the entire topic (causes, symptoms, probability, outcomes, etc). Most bleeding during pregnancy does not occur on a set cycle (like a period), does not last for 4-5 days then stop again for about 28 days. So, let's look at is what most reasonable and logical for YOUR situation (instead of whatever you can read on the internet that does not pertain to your situation):

- You used condoms each and every time you had sex, which are up to 98% effective at preventing pregnancy.

- You used the withdrawal method most times (boyfriend withdrew penis before ejaculation), which is up to 70% effective at preventing pregnancy alone.

- You took emergency contraception, which is up to 80% effective as an additional birth control measure.

- You had your menstrual period when you were expecting it (a week later, due to the emergency contraception).

Please think about if you are emotionally ready for sex, since you are going through the motions and using every possible combination of birth control (except hormonal contraception, which is even more effective). You are making good choices, and you can trust in them!
