The Next Choice Pill, like you already stated, should be taken within 72 hours of having unprotected sex. If you took it on the fourth day, then it lost its effectiveness. However, you did get your period so it seems like you were not pregnant that first time in December. On January 1st you said you took it the following day, which is a good thing and you also mention your period being irregular so at this point only a pregnancy test could tell. It's hard to say whether you are pregnant or not because you say you had two positives and two negatives. Usually when you get a positive, it means you're pregnant--even if it is a faint line. If you want a more accurate test, you can visit your doctor for a serum pregnancy test (they will draw blood) OR you can try it one more time from home, early in the morning for best results.
