Plan B prevents pregnancy by preventing ovulation. It is possible that the pill prevents fertilization and implantation.
Taking it after ovulation may reduce its effectiveness. You will know it was effective once you experience bleeding.
If the cramping and other side effects worsen or persist, please contact your physician. If you do not have any bleeding within three weeks of taking the pill, test for pregnancy.
