There is no need to take an emergency contraceptive.
When you are having or have just finished your period, you are not ovulating. In order to conceive, you must have unprotected sexual intercourse during the time, five days before and on the day of ovulation.
In a 28 day menstrual cycle, ovulation generally happens about 14 days before the start of your next period.
