Guide (reply to Anonymous)

Hello Anonymous,

Postinor 2, like all other emergency contraceptives, prevents pregnancy by preventing ovulation, and causing changes in the mucus of the cervix to make it more difficult for sperm to reach and fertilize the egg. (if ovulation has already occurred).

An emergency contraceptive is not intended to be used as birth control. Thinking logically, by taking the pill on April 4, either ovulation was prevented or cervical mucus changes occurred, and you would not have conceived by having intercourse on April 5 and 6.

I urge you to use some type of birth control, either condoms or get a prescription for oral contraceptives, if you do not want to become pregnant.

Regards,
Maryann
