If you had sex and got your period the very next day, then chances are that you were not ovulating on the day you had sex and are not pregnant. On the day of your period, your body starts to shed the lining of the uterus and the unovulated egg. I would not be too worried about this. However, it is important for you to use protection in order to avoid another scare like this and if you're trying to have a baby-- keep trying after your period :)
