How long ago did you have unprotected sex? You may need to re-test in a week or so, just to be sure that you're not testing too early. It's difficult to determine when you should be testing if you aren't keeping track of your periods.
Even if you haven't conceived after two years of unprotected sex, please don't assume that you can't get pregnant...especially if you aren't ready for children. Using a condom, taking birth control pills, or other forms of contraceptives will prevent future scares from happening.
Stress, hormonal imbalance, illness, weight loss/gain are all reasons for a late or missed period. So, if you aren't pregnant then one of these could be the reason for your missed period.
