Guide (reply to Anonymous)

Hello Anonymous,

If indeed her period ended on December 19 ans she has a 24 to 28 day menstrual cycle, she would been ovulating on January 2. She is most likely to conceive when having unprotected intercourse five days before ovulation, which would have been December 28 and on the day of ovulation, which would have been January 2.

The brown vaginal discharge was old blood and uterine tissue left from her last period.

An emergency contraceptive works to prevent pregnancy by preventing ovulation.

In your situation, she took it after ovulation most likely happened.

I am very concerned that she continues to have vaginal bleeding for almost six days, had heavy bleeding and a blood clot passed.

She must contact her gynecologist or primary care physician about this.

Regards,
Maryann
