Hello Anonymous,

For women who are not breastfeeding, the sight of nipple discharge can be of concern. While nipple discharge can be serious, it most cases, it is normal or due to a minor condition.

Normal nipple discharge more commonly occurs in both nipples and is often released when the nipples are compressed or squeezed, as in your case. Leaving the nipples alone for a while may help the condition improve.

Some causes of normal nipple discharge include early pregnancy, stopping breastfeeding, stimulation and squeezing, and repeated chaffing by your bra or during vigorous physical exercise, such as jogging.

If the nipple discharge persists, consult your physician. Based on your medical evaluation, your doctor will determine whether your nipple discharge is normal or abnormal.
