Hi Anon,

Welcome to EmpowHER. Genital sores may be painful, itchy, produce a discharge, or cause no symptoms at all.

Because genital lesions or sores can have a negative affect on a person's self-image, many people do not seek proper medical care. All genital sores should be evaluated by a medical professional.

Itching, painful urination, or painful sexual intercourse often occur with genital lesions.

Some of the causes can be chancroid, genital herpes, syphilis, genital warts and many other.  You will be seen by your OBGYN and witht he proper testing he will find the proper treatment.  There is no need to be embarrassed or scared of letting your doctor know of your symptoms.  That’s what a doctor is there for.  You will not be he’s first and only patient with his these symptoms.

Best,

Daisy
