The availability of urgent care in many communities is a wonderful development in the delivery of health care. I remember a time when they did not exist. Going to the ER, especially after hours, was the only option.
Urgent care centers are good for patients, as you mentioned. But, they also allow the ER staff to focus on emergency cases. Thus, limited resources are not abuse or overused.
