Hello Anonymous,

I would like to welcome you to the EmpowHER community.
Congratulations on reaching that milestone of remission!

Anonymous, have you been prescribed an estrogen inhibitor, such as Tamoxifen or an aromatase inhibitor such as Anastozole?

I was diagnosed with breast cancer last spring. I am also post menopausal. I have been prescribed an aromatase inhibitor, which I must take daily for five years.

I am surmising that because you are not allowed to take estrogen, you must also have been diagnosed with an estrogen receptor (ER) positive breast cancer. This type of breast cancer grows in response to estrogen.
Both you and I must eliminate any estrogen produced in our bodies and avoid any estrogen supplements.

I know you cannot take an estrogen supplement, but ask your oncologist and gynecologist if a progesterone supplement would be safe and of any benefit.

Regards,
Maryann
