From your post, I don't think you are there yet. If she misses her period, then you will have to take a pregnancy test. Her minimal bleeding is not that uncommon - sometimes this just happens with no real good explanation.
My best advice is to wait and see if she misses her period and then take the pregnancy test. Has she ever thought of possible birth control methods to also protect herself from pregnancy since you are both sexually active? In that case you should always use a condom plus birth control.
