Guide

Hi Alexis_denise,

Thank you for sharing your question with the EmpowHER community! I am sure you are a bit nervous, which could also be why your period is late.

It also takes at least one full pack of pills to regulate your body and the person who prescribed them to you should have suggested that you use a back up method. Not taking the pills as prescribed and having unprotected sex will definitely increase your chances of getting pregnant.

During the first trimester, weeks 1 – 12, hormone changes bring an end to your period, lack of energy, increase in urination, heartburn and upset stomach, tender breasts, cravings or distaste for certain foods, moodiness, and constipation. Some women report all, some or none of these symptoms. Each woman and each pregnancy are different.

Most over the counter pregnancy tests can tell you if you are pregnant 5 days before a missed period. You should take a test or call your doctor.

Alexis_denise, please let me know if you have any of these symptoms and if you take a pregnancy test.

Best,

Kristin
