Guide

Hello Anonymous,

Welcome to the EmpowHER community. Thank you for seeking our help with your concern.

Menorrhagia is the term used for a menstrual cycle that is prolonged, irregular and with excessive heavy bleeding.

Possible causes include perimenopause, uterine fibroids, and polyps in the uterus.

Some women can notice the first signs of perimenopause in their late 40s, while most start in their 50s.

If you are younger than your late 40s, there is another reason for a period that lasts two weeks and three days.

Anonymous, consider scheduling an appointment with your gynecologist. Anemia is a concern of a longer than normal period.

Regards,
Maryann
