I'm not on Birth Control pills anymore been off since March 2014. but I have company coming in town and called my gunk to resubmit a prescription and started back on my Levora that I used to take before discontinuing. I'm trying to stop my period. If I take 2 a day from yesterday (Wednesday) until he leaves on Monday how soon will my period stop? I need it to stop tomorrow Friday. HELP!!!!

Dear Anon,

I hope that you had a chance to read Susan's response and that you can still enjoy the time with your company. I'm sure your guy will understand :-)

Best of luck!

Hi Anon,

Since you are already on your period, most likely the pills will not make it stop. BUT, every pill is different and I think you should call your doctor or pharmacist to an exact answer.

Hope this helps and hope you can still have a good weekend.

Hi Anon,

Thank you for choosing EmpowHER and sharing your question. Many women wish to stop or delay their period for special ocassions, travel or reasons such as yours.

Typically if you take two packs of pills back to back, you can delay your period, however you are on a bit of a time crunch and so I suggest that you call your doctor who prescribed you the Levora. If you cannot reach him or her, you can call the pharmacist. This is not something you want to do without speaking with a medical professional. It can really affect your cycle and the birth control may not work as it is suppose to and you could get pregnant by taking it in a different way than prescribed.

Anon, can you call your doctor today?

Best,

Kristin

Thank you for replying. My concern is not getting pregnant it's the actual period. I don't want to be on it while company is here. Protection will still be used. So if I've been off birth control for a few months of I take 2 a day while on my period will that help stop it or make me bleed longer?
