I have now officially been on tri sprintec oral contraceptive for one month, one week & 4 days. Is it safe to have unprotected sex. My boyfriend and I have been together for 1year now and recently started having sex. That was the reason for me getting on the pill. But we're both inexperienced in that department so I'm sure that's why we were having trouble with the condoms. But my question to you is since I'm not really accustomed to taking birth control I'm not sure what normal side effects are. I've been taking them everyday at the same time. I got my period on Oct 28 it lasted about 4-5 days. My boyfriend and I had unprotected sex on November 7 & 8 but yesterday and today my breasts have gotten tender and swollen. Is this normal?? My period is not due for another 10 days. I am also experiencing mild cramping. Last month when I first started the pill and took Plan B I did not experience tender swollen breasts however I had mild cramping the entire month. I'm just frustrated my boyfriend and I want to enjoy sex but this is getting so worrisome.
