Breast pain, which is also known as mastalgia, can be caused by many things ranging from hormonal changes associated with the menstrual cycle to arthritis in the chest cavity and neck.
If the pain comes and goes with your period then it may be hormonal. If the pain is ongoing, or worsens, then you will need to see your healthcare provider for an exam and diagnosis.
