Guide

Hi Anonymous and thanks for bringing your concerns and question to EmpowHER.

Most women have two fallopian tubes in which eggs travel through to get from the ovaries to the uterus. A small number of women are born with only one tube. There are many women who only have one fully functioning fallopian tube due to various causes including tumors, infection and ectopic pregnancies.

Women with one fallopian tube and and do get pregnant if that tube is healthy; they have one or both ovaries and they are still ovulating.

Since you've been unable to get pregnant after trying to conceive for three years it would be best to see your gynecologist. They may be other factors that are preventing conception or some steps you can take to increase your changes of conceiving.

Good luck and let us know what you learn!

Best,

Pam
