Menstrual cycle irregularities can have many different causes. Pregnancy and/or breast-feeding are definitely contributors. The 8 day cycle followed up by bleeding again 5 days later, could be abnormal bleeding or your cycle re-adjusting after having the twins.
Track your menstrual cycle and share this with your OB/GYN when you return for your regular exams.
Track by keeping record on a calendar or smartphone the following:
·Start date
·End date – how long it last. Is it different than previous months, etc.?
·Flow – heaviness. Is it lighter or heavier than previous months?
·Abnormal bleeding –Note if you are bleeding between periods
·Pain – Note any pain associated and if it feels worse than usual.
·Other changes – Are you experiencing any changes in mood or behavior?
Are there any other symptoms or concerns you have?
