Hello Anonymous,

Birth control pills protect you from becoming pregnant by preventing ovulation. Missing a dose at the beginning of a new pack does put you at risk because your body has already gone seven days (inactive pills) without hormones and by missing the first dose, make that eight days.

Compound that by having intercourse and not using some other type of protection, such as a condom, pregnancy was possible.

Anonymous, please give your gynecologist's office a call about this.
