Having a thigh gap is unrealistic for many people no matter their height.  There are many people who will never have a thigh gap even when in the best shape they can be.  This has nothing to do with imperfection, its just normal for some body types to have thighs that make contact when walking.

Take me for example.  I am a healthy, fit person and still the fabric between my thighs is the first place to rub thin.

In conclusion however, exercise can in some cases decrease thigh size and in turn decrease the rubbing.
